Black In Film:
A Series of Conversations and a Showcase of Historical Lineage in Cinema
Join us each Saturday in February for the Black In Film speaker. The Black in Film speaker series is presented by the African American Cinema Gallery and The Peachtree Village International Film Festival. The series takes you on a journey along a path of success stories and triumphs of African American cinema artists. This journey will give you a practical lesson on the Black experience in Hollywood. It is meant to inspire people to appreciate the value of black film and literature through creative thinking, dreaming and turning that dream into a reality. Immediately following each screening, a Q&A session will take place. A panel of cinema experts will be onsite to answer questions about the film industry.

Congratulations to the 2009 Black History Month "Express Yourself" contest winner, Jazmia Henry! Her artwork is titled U.N.I.T.Y and was inspired from the early 90's hip-hop hit from Queen Latifah. Congratulations Jazmia!
We also congratulate our Black History Month grand prize winner, Don Kimble. Don correctly named the African-American pioneers in history featured during week 2 of Black History Month (Nikki Giovanni and Dorthy Dandridge). Congratulations Don!
