Calling all film and pop culture buffs! Did you know that actresses such as Myrtle Gonzales and Beatriz Michelena were among the first leading ladies in the silent screen era? Probably not because their information is not generally included in American history books. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15), the Hispanic Cinema Museum, a traveling museum that celebrates the achievements of Hispanics in the fields of film, theater and television, is making a stop at Underground Atlanta on September 26 and October 10. Come check out rare photographs and footage, biographies, motivational quotes, posters, playbills and other items of memorabilia relating back to the early years of cinema meant to educate and inspire youth and adults of all races and nationalities.
