Can you paint, draw, or color? Enter Underground Atlanta’s Black History Month Creativity Contest and have your art displayed throughout the month of February. (Entries must be inspired by Black History Month. Contest is open to youth to 16 years of age. Submit entries at the Underground Atlanta Information Booth. Judging will take place on March 2. A Grand Prize Winner will be announced March 3.)
Black In Film:
A Series of Conversations and a Showcase of Historical Lineage in Cinema.
If you missed the first two panel discussions, don’t be left out this week because it only gets better! This Saturday, February 21, the Black In Film series presents, Lady Sings the Blues, as the featured film in the third program of the month entitled, “A Classic African American Film Screening.” The screening will be followed by a lecture and open discussion entitled, “The Untold Story of a Place Called Black Hollywood.” It all starts at 12 noon in the ACVB Welcome Center Theatre (Located on the corner of Upper Alabama and Pryor Street across from Quiznos).
