UNDERGROUND ATLANTA is located in the Downtown southern quadrant adjacent to the Five Points MARTA Station and Georgia State University.  UNDERGROUND is walking distance to area attractions, office towers, and city, state and federal government buildings.

Well-known restaurants help to create dining and entertainment destination that offers variety in types of food and level of formality.

CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT

Downtown Atlanta represents this region's largest office market with over 10 million square feet of office space. Major companies in the CBD include the Coca-Cola Company, Georgia Pacific, Georgia Power, Turner Broadcasting/Time Warner, and AT&T.

Approximately 85,000 people work within a 1/2 mile walking distance to restaurants of Underground Atlanta. Nearly 1/4 million are employed downtown, making this submarket the largest in the metro area.

The Georgia State Capitol attracts additional legislators, lobbyists, and staff year-round with the strongest boost in January through April every year when they are in session.

CONVENTION & LEISURE TRAVEL

Underground Atlanta generates much of its 6 million visitors from the downtown convention trade center. The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau expects nearly 1 million convention delegates who will stay overnight.

Leisure travelers visit Atlanta for many reasons including family and friends and the many attractions the metro offers including the new Georgia Aquarium, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mountain Park, the Georgia Mountains and much more.

SPORTS

The Georgia Dome is the home of our NFL team, the Atlanta Falcons. Philips Arena is the home of our NBA team, the Atlanta Hawks and NHL team, the Atlanta Thrashers. The Atlanta Braves play in the nearby Turner Field stadium located just south of Underground Atlanta.

Downtown Atlanta is the home of the celebrated Chick-fil-Al and SEC Championship game both played in the Georgia Dome.

COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

Georgia State University is the state's second largest university and attracts a daytime enrollment of 32,000 students. GSU, located one block north of Underground Atlanta, recently opened a new residence hall for 2,000 students.

The campuses of Georgia Technical Institute, Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Morris Brown College are located near downtown and are only a few minutes from Underground.
